Introducing The Ripe MCP
New: Ripe MCP Server is Now Generally Available
Travelers are increasingly starting trip planning in a conversation, not a search bar. The Ripe MCP Server meets that shift head-on — and as of today, it's generally available for all Ripe clients and authorized agency and development partners.
Why This Matters
The Ripe MCP Server exposes lodging search, property content, and live availability through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — an open standard that lets AI assistants and agent frameworks query external data the same predictable way, without a custom integration for every platform.
Connect once, and any MCP-compatible assistant — Claude, a client's own chatbot, a website search experience, or an agent framework — can ask Ripe real questions and get back live, structured, trustworthy answers. No scraping, no fragile parsing of HTML.
What You Get
Five read-only tools, callable in whatever order the conversation calls for:
- Destination discovery — the directory of active destinations available to search
- Property search — natural language, vibe-based search ("cozy," "ski-in/ski-out") across place, dates, budget, and amenities
- Property content — descriptions, photos, amenities, and review summaries
- Live availability & pricing — confirmed bookability for a specific property and stay window, always checked live at query time — never from a cache
- Search vocabulary — the exact amenity and property-type terms the search engine recognizes, for precise filtering
Every response includes a direct link back to the live booking page to complete a reservation — booking directly through MCP isn't supported yet.
How to Get Started
- Request an access token (tied to your email or a service account)
- Add Ripe as a connector in Claude — or point any MCP-compatible client at the Ripe MCP URL, token included
- Ask a natural question, like "Find a pet-friendly place to stay in Park City next weekend, under $400 a night"
Full setup steps, are in Ripe MCP Setup & Authentication. For a deeper look at the tools and the reasoning behind them, see the Ripe MCP Overview.
What's Next
We're expanding the toolset over time, including deeper content coverage and quicker response times. Longer term, we're working toward full booking through MCP — for now, anything transactional still routes through the REST API and the live booking page.
