Policy Management Quick Guide
Clear policies set proper expectations with guests and protect both you and Ripe. This quick guide will walk you through adding policies to your property listing.
Adding Policies to Your Property
For Extranet/Email Properties:
- Navigate to Properties
- Select your property
- Find the Content tab
- In the dropdown menu, select Policies
- Click + Add Policy at the top of the page
- Set to Default Policy
- Write in your cancellation and deposit policies in the appropriate boxes
- Click Submit
For Connected Properties (Expedia, GDS, API):
Your policies automatically pull from your connection source (Expedia, GDS, or PMS). Updates made there will sync to Ripe within 24-48 hours.
Common Policy Types to Include
Cancellation Policy
Define when guests can cancel and whether they'll receive a refund.
Example: "Free cancellation up to 48 hours before check-in. Cancellations within 48 hours will be charged one night's stay. No-shows will be charged the full reservation amount."
Deposit Policy
Specify when and how payment is collected.
Example: "A $100 incidental deposit will be authorized on your card at check-in and released within 3-5 business days of check-out."
